This month marks the 80th anniversary of the first—and so far only—use of nuclear weapons in warfare, when atomic bombs detonated over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, on the 6th and 9th of August respectively. Writing about the events leading up to and following these bombings in The Girls of Atomic City was an intense and life-changing experience for me as both a writer and a human. “The Manhattan Project in Colour” is a documentary produced by Woodcut Media premiering this Saturday, August 9, on Channel 4 in the UK. I am privileged to have been a part of it.
